Expanding the Team – Rob Wrubel joins as CEO

By spring 1998, things were going well at Ask Jeeves. We felt it was time to recruit a professional CEO to lead the company into its next phase of growth. In another stroke of good fortune, we were able to attract Rob Wruble who had previously been COO at Knowledge Adventure. He joined Ask Jeeves in May 1998.

Rob Wrubel led the company through continued rapid growth, expanding the executive team, and through our mezzanine venture capital financing in early 1999. From there, he was CEO for our “road tour” and our Initial Public Offering (IPO) in July 1999.

His dynamic and personable leadership style was the perfect fit for both Ask Jeeves and for the optimism of the time. He was a key player in the company’s continued and growing success.
